The "K" Sound
To make the K sound, use C with a, o, u (Casa). Use QU with e, i (Queso). The 'u' in 'qu' is silent!
The "S" or "Th" Sound
Z always makes this sound. C makes this sound only before e, i (Cero). In Latin America, it sounds like 'S'. In Spain, it sounds like 'Th'.
